5 Perfect Games for Little Kids at Home!

Hot and Cold

This is a fun game where you can sit back and relax a little bit if you are worn out from playtime. Take your child’s favorite stuffy and have them play hide-and-seek with it–you can hide it from them and then play hot and old with them while they search around the room for their favorite toy.

If your child gets frustrated, you can hold their hand and help them. This game will teach kids patience, perseverance, and listening skills.

Odd-One-Out

This is a game you can play with any kind of object, from toys to crayons or even fruits. Have a group of objects together that are all the same except for one and have your toddler identify the odd-one-out.

You can increase the difficulty of this game by moving up to flashcards of shapes or plants or animals and then ask them to identify the odd-one-out.

Obstacle Courses

Obstacle courses are a great way to teach gross motor skills, balance, and coordination in a fun way. You can set up an obstacle course in your home or yard. Set up obstacles that give your child a variety of movements like jumping, rolling, running, or crawling under, over, or around objects.

Scavenger Hunt

Every kid loves a scavenger hunt! You can send your toddlers and young kids out to hunt for objects around the house or yard that are common household items or special items hidden just for this event.

Hokey Pokey

A great game to get the whole family moving to is to do the hokey-pokey!

You can sing the song yourself or turn the song on a speaker or your phone and just follow the directions along with your kiddos. Kids love to dance and sing, so getting to do those activities with you will bring them that much more joy!
